TEEN CAMP

District Teen Camp was July 5-9, 2010 at the Orleans Wesleyan Campgrounds. We had about 95 students and 25 staff. There seemed to be a SWEET SPIRIT, especially during the commitment times at the altar. From 5-7 one evening to ALL but 4 at the altar another evening.

We had students that prayed for forgiveness about being…

  • Selfish and not putting God first
  • Obedient and dealing with anger issues
  • Desiring continued growth in Christ

6 students received SALVATION
13 students RESTORED their relationship with CHRIST
8 students felt called into some type of service
9 students felt called into FULL TIME MINISTRY!!

These are just numbers and may not be 100% accurate, but it gives us a small glimpse of what happened at the altar.

Caleb, Maritza, Gadiel & Joshua Rosario were transferred to Terre Haute from Puerto Rico to work at the Pfizer plant.  They spent a year and a half in before being transferred back to Puerto Rico. We as a church fell in LOVE with the Rosario’s and they fell in love with us.  Before they left Gadiel was able to attend one year of Kid’s Camp and just loved it.  Caleb called me early spring inquiring about Teen Camp this year.  They ended up bring their two older boys as paid campers and Caleb and Maritza volunteered their time being in charge of the dinning hall.  The camp quickly fell in love with them and I think they fell in love with the camp.

The Rosario’s left Friday, July 9th from Orleans camp heading to Washington DC for a week of vacation.  Below is an e-mail I received from Caleb’s iPhone.

Dios te bendiga, Pastor Joe!
At this moment, we are in Williamsburg, VA.

Teen camp was more than I expected.
It provided to our life a great moments & experiences with our Lord.

My kids received:
- clear purpose to live as Christ disciples. Each sermons provided us a new Christian experience.

- positives activities and games

- a great professional way to run camp direction.

It is admirable, the passion of the leadership camp to run the event with excellence. We want to return next year.

It was demonstrated the great love for our young guys by Pastors: Joe, Clay, Kellie, Wes & Mr. Security of the night (I miss his name).

Thanks for your attentions!

Caleb told me a few days ago that he wanted to come back to camp again next year.  I do know that air fare was a major expense, but well worth it in his mind!

What do you consider a great investment?
